Based in Worcester our expert craftsmen produce all of our reconstructed stone by hand. We spend a lot of time researching the many different types of sand available throughout the country and source many different types to ensure our product has the best finish possible.
The compound is carefully packed into specially crafted moulds by members of our skilled team, who have a combined experience of over 57 years!! We produce all of our moulds in-house so you won’t find any of our products anywhere else. This allows us to produce the highest quality custom items to your exact specifications.
The stone is completely maintenance free so long as it is handled carefully during its installation and removal from its packaging. The finish and texture of the stone is very similar to that of real stone, it is not uncommon for customers to see our stone and think its real stone that we have cut. Our stone will mature elegantly over time to become even more pleasing to the eye as it blends in with it’s surroundings. The rate at which the stone weathers is dependent on its environment, if there are many overhanging trees then it will weather quickly, as opposed to slowly if out in the open.
The finished product is very hard wearing, especially against exfoliation which quarried stone is susceptible to. Although it is not recommended to wet the stone during extremes of temperature.
We use a third party haulage company to transport our goods throughout the country delivering direct to site. The stone is carefully stacked onto palettes with protective padding between the items to ensure they get to you in the perfect condition. When accepting a delivery the company we use will have a tail lift to lower the palates down to roadside level. Please make sure you check the packaging of the palate for obvious signs of damage such as large rips in the pallet wrap where the stone can clearly be seen to be damaged beneath. If you do find that you have a damaged stone whilst unpacking the pallet then don’t hesitate to phone us and we will arrange a replacement for you. We advise you not to organise builders or fitting untill you have your stone on site with you.
Being a natural product, the stone can occasionally suffer from “efflorescence” or lime bloom as it’s also called. This can appear as a white coloration of the stone and surrounding brickwork. It will eventually disperse naturally, but it can also be removed with a good quality brick acid. This will not occur in every instance as it depends upon which seam the sand was taken from when quarried. On occasion the stone can also develop fine hairline fissures, this is a rare occurrence and under normal circumstances it will not affect the structural integrity of the stone.
